(More customer reviews)Before I bought these micro wafers, I was using the traditional flake food sold in the pet stores. It was horrible! After a week or so, my aquarium water started turning brown! I do try to remove the food that the fish don't eat, but it is impossible to remove every single piece. I looked it up and apparently the dyes in the flakes would seep out into the water and turn it brown.
Anyway, after I switched over to Hikari Micro Wafers, the water is crystal clear and my fish (gourami, ciclids, and tetras) LOVE it! They are very very tiny and even more impossible to remove, but they don't break down fast and I find that my fish eventually swim around and pick it off the floor. And even though the food is there for a longer time, the water is still clear!
