(More customer reviews)I love this bio-media. I use it in my external canister filters on all my indoor aquariums as well as in my large 55 gallon up-flow bio-filter for my pond. Seachem's Pond Matrix is under used and underated in the pond world..........a lot of people on the Pond and Koi forums have never heard of it and don't use it, but if they did their homework, they most likely would. Seachem's only makes quality products and they are a company that is known for all the research they do in creating any and all of their products............there are NO juck products in their line-up. Pond Matrix has tremendous surface area (both external AND internal) for the good guy bacteria to grow on, so even if you give it a quick rinse under regular tap water, the beneficial bacteria would still be in good shape because the INTERNAL bacteria is still alive and would quickly spread to the external parts of the media upon start-up. It is NOT hard to clean like Lava Rock and many other filter medias, so this bio-media makes filter maintenance quick and easy! Check out Seachem's web site and give this bio-media a try out.
