Lee's Triple-Flow Corner Filter, Large Review

Lee's Triple-Flow Corner Filter, Large
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This filter does the job as expected. I am not so found of the attachable base on the bottom. It make the filter sit crooked in my gravel. I also would change the air tube. I like using an aeration stone, added oxygen in tank, but the little tabs that hold the tubing in place are fragile. The sloping lid makes it hard to keep the poly filter material in place while placing the filter into the tank. Otherwise, this is the kind of filter I was looking for to place in my 10 gallon tank.

Zoo Med Deluxe Porcelain Clamp Lamp with 8.5-Inch Dome, Black Review

Zoo Med Deluxe Porcelain Clamp Lamp with 8.5-Inch Dome, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this lamp to use with my turtle tank, to replace a lamp which did not have adequate heat insulation. I have been very pleased with the Zoo Med lamp. It was easy to assemble, easy to attach, and has a very convenient switch on the cord. It clips easily on to the side of my large floor tank and can be angled toward basking areas with ease. It also fits all the standard sized UV bulbs I have tried it with. A perfect, functional reptile heat lamp for practically any sized tank or reptile.

Fluval 405 External Canister Filter - 110V, 340 gallons per hour Review

The filter got to us on time for a great price. Assembled easily and supplies good flow in tank. Using on a 50 gal very populated tank, filters seem to need cleaning more than I expected. Also clogged once that brought flow to a halt after only 1.5 weeks of service.
Overall a good mechanism for assemble and disassemble, except lid needs to be pried off instead of having a lever system (?)

Definite helps to reduce odors in my turtle's aquarium and keep the water clear...If you are having trouble keeping the water clear, try to block away direct sunlight from hitting your tank with curtains or a hoodie and make frequent 50 percent water changes to prevent algae blooms.

WOW! They taste good! I had to try them myself. They have a very nice deep taste that stays in your mouth for a while. I wish human food was like that.. you know, that you can kinda savor even after you finished swallowing it. My pets agree because everytime they eat one... they swim around for a long while before eating another.... they're obviously doing the same!

Zoo Med MC-10 Microclean 304 Int Filter (Mini Aq) Review

Zoo Med MC-10 Microclean 304 Int Filter (Mini Aq)
Average Reviews:

It does a very good job of filtering my tank. I have a frog with a half and half tank setup. The suction is fine for the frog, but when I put a fish in there, it was over taken by the strength of the suction and the power of the water being filtered out. Not too bad overall.

Fluval U1 Underwater Filter Review

Fluval U1 Underwater Filter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this filter for 1 Red Ear Slider in a 10 gallon tank. It's an easy setup and quite powerful for such a compact filter. I moved around the pebbles to get any uneaten food and dirt to float. As soon as I started this filter, all of the junk went to the side vents and the water quickly cleared up. For a 10 gallon filter I have to say that the outtake nozzle shoots the water out fast. You can control how fast the water comes out but I must say, I believe I have it at the lowest setting possible and it still comes out fast. I guess that it good so that it keeps the water circulating. Admittingly, I haven't had a turtle since I was in Elementary School; I won't say what year ;-) This filter also has a dial that allows air to also enter the tank. With the combination of air and the flow, this gives good circulation. I must say, since I put this filter in, my RES is very active.
Cleaning is very easy. This model has a flip top and all you need to do is either take out the foam and wash it; or replace it. This foam is very inexpensive. Also, this filter varies in price. It's best to shop around. I should of bought this on Amazon as Petco didn't have this model but my local Aquarium shop did; for $10 extra. I've seen prices vary from several online stores from $5 to about $20.
This is a pretty good filter for a 10 gallon tank or as a secondary filter for a larger tank. If you can see the small letters in the picture above, the U1 is the one on the right.

Zoo Med Floating Aquarium Log, Medium Review

Zoo Med Floating Aquarium Log, Medium
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This realistically ugly plastic log floats on the surface of the tank providing a hiding place for brooding mouthbrooders and chewed-on males. Like penn-plex's cliffs and caves, it provides a hiding place away from the prime territory at the tank bottoms, so the dominant males leave it alone. There are no suction cups to fail and it sits in a stable orientation and does not roll. It boast a "feeding hole", but I wouldn't use it. If the aggressive fish find food in they won't leave it alone.

Tetra ReptoMin Sticks, Reptile Food, 2.64-Pound Review

Tetra ReptoMin Sticks, Reptile Food, 2.64-Pound
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a young painted turtle, and I had to find some food for it. I read some reviews of the ReptoMin foodsticks throughout the internet, and I figured I'd go with it. So, I go here to Amazon (because they have everything, no joke), find it in no time, and click the buy button. A couple days later, the stuff ships, and to my suprise, this isn't some small-fry food shaker. This is the mondo-ultra kingsize box when you compare it to the size of my turtle. I'll be glad in the future, because I know I won't have to reorder it anytime soon. Anyways...
I take out a couple pieces of food, and drop them in the water for the turtle to go at. Right away, the little booger turns around, sees the food, and takes after it. This stuff is like a turtle's delicious cake. Naturally, I found out that I had to soak it for a few minutes to let it soften up for the young turtle to be able to eat, but it doesn't matter to the turtle, he just loves the stuff (well, don't soak it too long or all of the flavor will dilute). He never did go through any kind of "Hmm, I've never seen this before, therefore it's probably gross. I won't eat it" type of stage. He dove right in. I've been feeding it to him for a little over a month now, and he's growing quite rapidly (I don't actually know the gender yet, fyi, you can't tell on young turtles such as this one). What can I say, he loves this stuff. I'd recommend it with full force, and when the time eventually comes, I'll buy it again.

Zoo Med Natural Cork Bark, Flat, Large Review

Zoo Med Natural Cork Bark, Flat, Large
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The picture here doesn't do it justice, so I uploaded a couple shots. I was very pleased with this, even though the color is more grayish with light green moss. The cork is thick, deeply grooved and semi-rounded, which makes it a great cover for my aquarium heater, and offers more hiding spots for my fish. I almost ordered the cork tile, but this works better for my usage, which will be one end of my 55 gallon aquarium.
Being cork, it takes a lot to hold it down, however. I attached 3" suction cups to the back with 12 lb. test fishing line. Well, the line stretched and broke, so now I'm using 25 lb. test. I'll update with another picture of my tank when I'm sure it will hold.

Penn-plax Bubbler Bottom Filter Review

Penn-plax Bubbler Bottom Filter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Basically, i started this out for guppies. they didn't survive and now i have quite a few more. Swordtails being my favorite here. the filter is simple, but is a hassle for the activated filter carbon. the small particles get throught the bottom and then, the air is pushed through, potientially pushing out the small particles into the tank. i thought it was dangerous for the fish so i got a sifter for the smaller particles. it takes me an hour and a half all together to get this done. the airtube is pretty tight on, but it gets slimy. the trapping isn't amazing, but decent so make sure you have a cleaning fish for the leftovers.
