I was some what disappointed to find only one reflector for the two bulbs instead of one for each bulb. One of the ballasts is making a slight buzzing noise which is moderately irritating. The buzzing ballast will be replaced soon with a good quality Fulham ballast. This fixture is a decent quality product for the money.

This model seems to last 18 to 24 months before the starter goes out and can't be replaced. It happened to me and others. A great light when it works but they don't last. Don't just take my word, read the reviews for the model that does state it is made by Corallife.

(More customer reviews)I bought this unit to replace a Coralife 36" (2X96 fan cooled Freshwater 6700K) unit. I live in El Paso and my tank is under a sky-light. Due to the abundance of natural light, I don't really need much for things to grow. I run the light about 5 hours a day (6 to 11PM).
Pros- runs much cooler than my Coralife. I like the natural color of the LED units over the 6700K Coralife. Very low profile(may be a + or - depending on your taste).
Cons- not a salt water or coral light. Not enough light for that. Marineland would need to double the LED count to come close. Cannot run just the blue lights separately, should have had two cords for use of timers with the unit. Use of power adapter a little cheap and flimsy compared to the two three prong power cords of the Coralife. Coralife has much more light output, can change the bulbs for different color needs (salt, fresh, plant, coral, etc)
Because I don't need a bunch of light, I like the unit and will keep it.

Nova Extreme T5 36 4X39W Review

(More customer reviews)I have the 48" version of these lights and they are great. T5 lights (5/8" in diameter) produce an amazing amount of lumens for their wattage (over T8 or T12). I like that you can control the full daylight lamps, the blue actinic lamps, the moonlights and the fan individually. The only downside to this light system is that the four T5 lights do not have individual parabolic reflectors like the Tek lights. But I still think these lights get 5 stars due to their price. If you need more light output (maybe you're setting up a reef aquarium), then go with the Tek system. I'm doing fish only and I took out two of the four bulbs because it was so bright.
These T5 high output (HO) bulbs also contain alot less mercury than other flourescent bulbs.

(More customer reviews)I bought this pump at a local aquarium store. I bought it because it was supposed to be submersible OR non-submersible. I needed a non-submersible pump to pump water out of my aquarium from a tube into a sump behind my aquarium which would flow back into the aquarium (like a power filter that hangs on the back). I was going to make my own plant filter that this pump would pump water into. Well, it's only non-submersible if you connect it to a sump and the water level is higher than the pump. I needed a pump that can pump water up to the pump, not up from the pump. This might work for a future aquarium if I ever set up a sump under the main tank, but for now it's completely worthless to me and was false advertising. They don't show you how it works until you buy it and open it up. I could put it in the aquarium, but the whole objective was to not have a load of crap in the tank. I can't do what I want and have wasted a lot of money because the makers of this pump made it as cheaply and poorly as possible.

(More customer reviews)I have a 400 gallon tank. I replaced 4x400 HQI halides.Originaly I went with 4 of these lights, I now have five and may go to six. You have to place them within 4" of the waters surface and this limits thier spread. I have acros and they are doing well. As the other reviewer said they are not as intense as halides on a fixture for fixture basis however, using more fixtures gets you the same effect.
Taking into consideration the cost of a traditional halide fixture and bulb are about the same as these fixtures, the savings in electricity and maintinance on the fixtures themselves, LED is far and away a superior light to metal halide in almost every way.
I went from 1.6 killowats per hour 10 hours a day to 600 watts 10 hours a day. While that is less than half the watts, that is not where the real savings is. The real savings is in the heat, or rather how cool these lights run.
If you ever have had halides you know how hot they are.Between my chiller the A/C and running fewer watts my power bill has gone down $450.00 per month. I still need my chiller but is only runs 15 minutes an hour instead of 45 minutes an hour and keeps my tank at 77. I live in south FLA its hot all the time.
Additionally I was spending $500-600 a year keeping the system running,not including electriciy, bulbs and ballasts anually.
I have heard of people having problems with these lights and that led wholesalers is not really helpful however I have never had a failure with these. I bought mine on ebay from the same vendor for $315 including shipping.

(More customer reviews)The light is bright enough and very affordable. The problem lies with the heat. In the unit I bought, you cant run the T5's and the actinics together for very long before the thing gets too hot to even touch...just running the actinics for a couple hours overheated the unit and fried the ballast for the actinics...TWICE..at $20 each! Save yourself the money and just buy a 108w T5..or spend the money for a quality light fixure. I'm giving one star for the T5's being nice and bright and one star for the LED's..All in all I overpaid for a light that doesnt work as the manufacturer advertises.

R2 48 Inch Signature Series Aquarium Moonlight Review

(More customer reviews)I liked the idea of adding this light to our existing lighting setup so we could have moonlights without having to purchase an entirely new fixture. Unfortunately, what is not shown in pictures or listed in the measurements is that they put the plug in for the power cord on the very end sticking directly out of the end so the total length is more than 48"! We have a canopy on our tank so we need an light fixture that is actually 48"! I have purchased 48" lighting for our other 3 aquariums and have never had any problems with ordering a 48" light that fits under a canopy! I am really not sure why they couldn't/wouldn't have placed the plug on the back of the light where it would actually make this a 48" light and you wouldn't have an ugly plug sticking directly out the end! I can't comment on how well this would have lit up our tank at night but I will avoid trying another one and just suck it up and purchase an all in one fixture!

(More customer reviews)This power compact lighting is ok but not very practical since I thought there were 2 switch to turn either lamp on or off but the other switch is just blanked out and they have put a plug in it. So when ever you want to turn the lamp on, you have to turn of both lights. It is usefull to be able to turn the 10000K lamp off in the evening and leave only actinic to see the fluorescent beauty of coral and to simulate sunset but that's not possible with this unit and I was quite disapointed because on the pic it really look as if there are 2 switch.
The finish if extremely fragile and will scratch off at the slightest pressure from something hard.
Beside that the unit is very beautiful and the support foot are easy to install and adjust. It does the job but if I want to use the actinic only in the evening I have to unplug the white lamp manualy! this is a pain so I just shut off the unit and forget about using actinic only until I buy another fixture that has 2 separated switch.

(More customer reviews)I have a 65g salt water tank and really didn't like the "plain Jane" look of my fluorescent lighting. It just seemed so flat and boring. I really like the metal halide lights (who doesn't)but don't like the cost and power consumption. Also, having to possibly run a chiller in the summer months was totally out of the question. So I took a leap of faith and began purchasing these LED's. I have 3 hooked up now and I'm totally impressed. They're tiny and fit anywhere. I built a custom rack out of plywood and they sit right over the water under my old hood. Now there's tons of empty space under there and I'm thinking about fabricating a new lower profile hood. Just plug them into your timers or wall outlet and you're set. I plan on adding three more as each paycheck comes in. The beauty of these is that they are totally modular and you can add move them around as you please. One misconception is that the adds say "No heat". There is heat. Nothing like anything else on the market, but there is still heat being generated. However, it all dissipates up away from the water. There is little to no heat directed at the water surface. I would suggest you have at least 3 inches of space above the lights to allow heat to dissipate. No need for a fan. The light coming from these is sharp and bright for the level of power being consumed. The shimmer effect is insane.

It also shipped superfast, and on regular shipping rates. I think it took only a couple days from order. I was surprised when it had come. Also, this seller had the best price and best shipping. R2 36 Inch Signature Series Aquarium Moonlight Review

(More customer reviews)This is a very nice light that emits a soothing blue glow. If you have a shallow aquarium(12-20 inches deep) the light can still be quite bright.
The product arrives in a tube, which lies inside a rectangular box with its AC adapter separately in its own box. It is packed very well but for some reason mine arrived with one of the ends loose and missing the screw that held it in.
It is basically a tube of led's, some sheet metal to house it, and two plastic end caps, one with nothing in it, and the other with the power input and circuitry. The power switch is inline with the power cord, and not on the light housing itself.
The main problem I had with it is that since the power comes in through the side of the light, it would not fit properly inside my 36" wood canopy. I could've drilled a hole to accommodate the wire, but that would defeat the purpose of having a canopy to hide the wires.
